I am attending the Transportation Research Board conference in Washington D.C. this week and the theme is “Transportation, Livability, and Economic Development in a Changing World.”One of the more popular topics is this concept of Livability and what it means. The Obama administration has incorporated it (along with Sustainability) in the nation’s transportation policy planning. We have a heard the term Sustainability for a few years now and have some understanding on what it means. Livability on the other hand, is much more abstract and ambiguous.
